Summer 2016 is gonna be the best, you guys. For real.

We have so many fun gigs lined up for this summer. May is a quiet month of mental and spiritual preparation for us in what can only be described as a summer onslaught of acoustic powerpop. For real, you guys.

Be sure to get your tickets ASAP for the Milwaukee Boat line gig on 6/17/18 at MKEboat.com! We sold out the show last year, all 150 tickets!

Door County Tour has lined up nicely, and we'll be playing three official gigs up there from Wednesday July 13 through Saturday July 17. All free and open to the public. Plus probably a couple spontaneous performances, and perhaps another speed boat rental or two. WOO HOO!

We're playing again for our friends up at Big Cedar Lake, the Denim Park Summer Concert Series, and The Landing at Hoyt Park. Couldn't swing a gig this year at the State Fair due to vacation plans, but we'll try to make it happen next year.

We were discussing things as a band, and we just wanted everyone to know how grateful we are for the support we've been gettting. Over the last month, we've played two of our best gigs ever as we approach 100 shows with this band - at Mo's Irish Pub downtown, and a return gig to the Potawatomi Casino. These are the type of shows we initially set out to play with our group, and it is so awesome to see them come to fruition. Thanks.

Bockenplautz Door County Tour III: The Sturgeoning

Heya peeps!

Two weeks of just awesome gigs for the BNP, playing at the Casino June 26 and then for a festival crowd on the Vista King for the Milwaukee Boat Line Summer concert Series on Friday July 3rd during the US Bank fireworks! 150 people on the boat, totally sold out, and just an awesome crowd. We had a total blast!

We're returning for an abbreviated trip up to Door County this coming weekend for our third Door County tour. This year we've arranged two great gigs in Sturgeon Bay, only blocks away from each other!

• Friday, July 10, 2015, 6-10pm  - Kitty O'Reillys Irish Pub, 59 E. Oak St., Sturgeon Bay, WI - playing on their outdoor patio during dinner service
• Saturday, July, 11, 2015 9:30-close - Benny D'z, 23 E. Oak St., Sturgeon Bay, WI

We'll be staying at the Holiday Music Motel for the weekend, which also promises to be fun - it's a music- themed retro 50's motel that is a home to many travelling musicians in the area, and is owned in part by Jackson Browne and Pat MacDonald (of Timbuk 3 fame).

Hope to see some familiar faces up in Door County, and definitely make some new friends and win over some new fans!

Door County Tour 2014

What a fantastic night we had again playing for the nice people at the Milwaukee Boat Line last Saturday night for the summer concert series. The weather held out, and at the end of the night we got a surprise hit of fog that was eerily spooky and kinda cool. Hoping they'll have us back again next year!

No shows for the rest of June, but next month we've got some great fun in store - going back up to Door County for a 5 day tour with the band, playing 3 official shows and perhaps some unofficial shows as well:

• Wednesday, July 16, 2014 7-9pm, FREE all ages show playing in the Sister Bay Marina gazebo for the Sister Bay Summer Concerts in the Park series.
• Friday, July 18, 2014 - 6-10pm, FREE show playing on the outdoor patio at Kitty O'Reilly's Irish Pub in Sturgeon Bay, WI.
• Saturday, July 19, 2014 9:30pm-1am returning once again in triumphant fashion to the best bowling alley/supper club in Door County the Sister Bay Bowl! 21+, FREE show. 

We'll also be playing on July 24th again at the Landing at Hoyt Park, the new Wauwatosa beer garden. Had a wonderful time there last month, and really looking forward to playing there again!

Can't wait to get up to Door County next month!

Also, as many of you know, Jonnie fractured his left wrist in a mountain biking accident last month, and we had to cancel our show at the Potawatomi casino in MKE. We're hoping to reschedule for the fall, so stay tuned for that. Jonnie is healing well, and has actually been able to do three shows over the last two weeks in his cast, sitting down. Now that's dedication to superior acoustic powerpop!

Best Place Pre-Turkey Day Party THIS FRIDAY!

Been a very busy couple of weeks with the band - played again for the Doc Rock MKE benefit show last friday night and had a great time for a great cause. On the way home, the band stopped by at the Best Place and did a spontaneous totally acoustic gig in the Steinewert side bar for about 40 customers that had congregated there. Tons of fun!

This Friday night, we'll return to do our "official" show at the Best Place, and we can't wait. Anna Ceragioli will be opening up for us again, playing some awesome classic rock tunes. The BNP goes on around 9 and will play to at least 12!

Down and Over Next Week

After a short BNP sabbatical through the month of august (multiple band members out of town for extended periods of time) we're proud to announce that we are BACK AT IT, people. Rehearsal last week for the first time in 6 weeks, and we sounded better than ever. This acoustic powerpop juggernaut cannot be stopped. No way, no how.

We return to the stage for our first public gig in Milwaukee since June on Friday Sept 13, 2013 at the Down and Over pub in Bay View, playing with our new friends in Todd Day Wait's Pigpen, a high energy country blues and folk band that can best be described as a roving jug band on steroids.

Multiple other shows lined up for the fall, and working on bookings for some new venues in the winter this year! Stay tuned!
